A Sense of Dynamic
Dynamics means the loudness or softness of the music. Sometimes this is called the volume. Music often changes volume gradually from loud to soft, or from soft to loud.
- Loud means forte (f)
- Soft means piano (p)
- Louder means crescendo
- Softer means decrescendo
Objectives of the lesson - Students should be able to:
1. Understand the terms for loud and soft in music: forte (loud), piano (soft).
2. Sing at a piano dynamic level and forte dynamic level.
3. Identify things that are loud or soft, switch between performance at a piano and forte dynamic level.
4. Sing the forte, piano and perform the dance moves associated with that song.
